How your Baby Bibs Are Made
Your designs are printed onto the polar fleece fabric which is then cut to size. This ensures that your custom baby bibs are printed edge to edge. There is no sewing required with this item, so once it is cut, a press-stud popper is added to the shoulder of the bib. These custom baby bibs are all part of our sustainability initiative.
Your baby bibs are easy to clean and fast-drying; machine washable at 40°c. Fabric quality and colours stay true and your permanent print will not fade. To keep your fleece at its absolute fluffiest, we recommend using a stiff brush to relax the fibres every few washes or so, if you feel the fibres are stiffening at all. Ensure that you wait until the custom bibs are completely dry before doing this.
You can design your own bib to suit any number of situations. Create a design that matches your kitchen or dining room décor, or if you intend to use your custom bibs whilst out and about then you could design artwork that partners beautifully with your pram or pushchair. Due to the matte surface and white base, bright bold colours are recommended as the colour intensity is great; because of the brushed effect that makes these bibs so super-soft, we would advise against very fine detailing.
Use your custom printed baby bibs safely. Remove after feeding and before laying your baby down. Ensure you're holding your baby or they're sitting up and under supervision while they are wearing their bib.
By creating artwork or a design which compliments your décor you can always leave your custom bib to hand, and have it blend in seamlessly with it’s surroundings. If you have a personal family motto or saying, then you could incorporate this into your bespoke design and even your guests or the inevitable visitors that you always get in the early weeks and months of having a new baby.
Using custom made bibs is perfect if you have the luxury of being able to work and have your child with you at the same time. If not, having a custom baby bib when you drop your son on daughter off at day care or nursery that is so beautifully designed with your work, is bound to have people asking you all sorts of questions.
Especially with custom baby bibs that have been made to beautifully compliment your pram or pushchair, you are bound to turn heads when you are out and about. A unique canvas to work with, custom bibs show the true versatility of your designs and your brand.
Frequently asked questions:
What makes this part of your sustainability initiative?
As an eco-conscious company, we are forever trying to reduce our footprint, and we believe firmly that we could always do more. As there is no stitching involved with these bibs, they are a perfect use for our polar fleece, meaning that we use more of the material and less of it is wasted. A great way to avoid landfill.
Why don't you make the bibs from towelling?
There are several different properties that differ between the two fabrics, however we use the polar fleece for our custom baby bibs as it is hydrophobic – water fearing – which gives it water repellent properties. The terry towelling material is hydrophilic – water loving- which it absorbs the moisture rather than repelling it.
How is there no sewing involved in the making of this?
The design for our custom bibs means that the material only needs to be cut as one piece. The side-fastening press-stud popper means that the thick, comfortable neck banc doesn’t need to be stitched and can all be part of a one-piece bib pattern. Our polar fleece benefits from fantastic non-fraying properties, which means that your custom baby bibs don’t need to be hemmed.

What's the best resolution to print in?
We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight. Ideally, your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation.
Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?
For multi-coloured or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colours and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.
Which colour model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?
We advise providing images in the RGB colour space. Specifically using the sRGB image profile, to achieve best colour results. What does this mean? In your editing software choose RGB as the working space, and assign the image profile as sRGB (full name sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
What does GSM mean?
Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics).
What are bleed areas?
When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.
Do you print on garments a customer supplies?
Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat fabric and sewn into finished products, which gives a better-finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what gets the best results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily.
Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?
We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which is close enough for most patterns but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns.
Can I print my own Labels?
Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.
How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?
With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely water-based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfilment.
